A Fresh Perspective on Modern Jazz
Founded in 2023, the Jörg Leichtfried Trio promises not only musical excellence but also an exciting blend of tradition and innovation. Leichtfried's compositions captivate with rich harmonies paired with catchy melodies. With Gregor Aufmesser on double bass and Jakob Kammerer on drums, the trio's rhythm section elevates their acoustic sound to new heights through their sensitive interplay.

Leichtfried refers to this trio as a "working band": "A luxury you have to be able to afford and want to afford in terms of time. It’s actually not a given! We meet regularly, regardless of concerts, to experiment together and explore creative spaces." An approach that has already audibly paid off. The ensemble has clearly not just scratched the surface of the arrangements but has delved deeply into the soundscapes to find fresh approaches to music at every turn.

The pianist has performed in over 20 countries worldwide as part of his international concert activities. His work has been recognized with the Cultural Award of Lower Austria (2021) and the Federal Scholarship for
Composition (2024). Leichtfried is a lecturer in jazz piano at the Jam Music Lab University in Vienna.
